STATE OF CALIFORNIA
ISSUES STAY HOME ORDER
On Sunday, December 6, 2020 at 11:59 p.m., the State's Regional Stay Home Order went into effect. The Order is based on a less than 15% ICU availability in our region (Southern California) and will remain in effect for 3 weeks.

The Order prohibits private gatherings of any size, closes sector operations except for critical infrastructure and retail, non-essential travel (statewide) and requires 100% masking and physical distancing. Residents are encouraged to stay at home as much as possible to limit the spread of COVID-19.

Pursuant to the State's Stay Home Order, the following sectors must close:

  • Amusement parks
  • Bars, breweries, and distilleries
  • Cardrooms and satellite wagering
  • Family entertainment centers
  • Hair salons and barbershops
  • Indoor and outdoor playgrounds
  • Indoor recreational facilities
  • Limited services
  • Live audience sports
  • Movie theaters
  • Museums, zoos, and aquariums
  • Personal care services
  • Wineries

The following sectors that may remain open with additional modifications in addition to 100% masking and physical distancing:

  • Entertainment production including professional sports: No live audiences.
  • Hotels and lodging: Open for critical infrastructure support only.
  • Offices: Remote only except for critical infrastructure sectors where remote working is not possible.
  • Outdoor recreational facilities: Outdoor operation only - no food, drink or alcohol sales/Overnight stays at campgrounds are not permitted.
  • Places of worship and political expression: Outdoor services only.
  • Restaurants: Take-out, pick-up, or delivery only.
  • Retail: Indoor operation at 20% capacity with entrance metering and no eating or drinking in the stores. Additionally, special hours should be instituted for seniors and others with chronic conditions or compromised immune systems.
  • Shopping centers: Indoor operation at 20% capacity with entrance metering and no eating or drinking in the stores. Additionally, special hours should be instituted for seniors and others with chronic conditions or compromised immune systems.

The following sectors are allowed to remain open when a remote option is not possible with appropriate infectious disease preventative measures including 100% masking and physical distancing:

  • Critical infrastructure
  • Schools that are already open for in-person learning
  • Non-urgent medical and dental care
  • Child care and pre-K

COVID-19 Testing Site Now Open
at No Cost to You

Tests are contactless and self-administered through Curative, which has completed more than six million such tests in 15 states across the U.S.

Testing takes place 5 days a week, Tuesday – Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. through December 31, 2020 at the Rancho Mirage Library & Observatory (west parking lot) located at 71-100 Highway 111, Rancho Mirage.

Curative makes Covid-19 testing as easy as 1-2-3:

  1. Make an appointment
  2. Show up & take the self-administered oral swab test from your vehicle
  3. Get your results in 24-48 hours!
Please make sure not to eat, drink or smoke at least 20 minutes prior to testing.

  • Scheduling an appointment @ Curative.com is strongly encouraged.
  • Currently, appointments are being booked starting December 15th.
  • At this time, non-appointments cannot be accommodated between 12:00-1:00 p.m.
  • Appointment slots open about 3-4 days in advance.
  • Results are received in 24-48 hours via text and email.

The partnership between the City of Rancho Mirage and Curative will provide quick, easy, and painless no-cost access to COVID-19 oral-fluid swab testing for its residents and surrounding communities.

Testing is available to anyone, with or without symptoms or health insurance. Results of your test will be sent to you in an email and/or text message within a few days. A standard wait time for results is five days but results are coming back within 24 hours.

Human Rights Campaign (HRC) strives to end discrimination against LGBTQ people and realize a world that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all

The HRC's Municipal Equality Index (MEI) reflects the largest number of top-scoring municipalities in the MEI’s nine-year history. Out of 506 cities, 94 cities earned the maximum score of 100 points with Rancho Mirage being one of them.

Cities are scored on non-discrimination laws, municipality as employer, municipal services, law enforcement, and leadership on LGBTQ equality.

CITY ORDER & PROGRAM REMINDERS
FACE COVERINGS ARE REQUIRED IN ALL BUSINESSES, RESTAURANTS AND ADJACENT PUBLIC SPACES IN THE CITY OF RANCHO MIRAGE

The City of Rancho Mirage City Council has adopted the State of California’s Face-Covering Order, which mandates that a face-covering is required at all times when outside of the home, with some exceptions.
The Great Plates Delivered program will continue through January 7, 2021.
