REMEMBER THE BASICS TO STAY SAFE
IT'S UP TO ALL OF US!
We should all know by now that we all play a role in Covid-19 recovery and it all comes down to common sense:

  • Stay home except for essential needs/activities
  • Practice social distancing
  • Wear a face covering in public
  • Wash your hands with soap and water (min. 20 secs.)
  • Cover a cough or sneeze with your sleeve
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Stay away from work, school or other people if you are sick
  • Follow guidance from Public Health Officials
  • Get tested whether you have Covid-19 symptoms or not

We will continue to push out testing information to ensure that everyone knows where to go and what to do.

Remember, anyone, with or without symptoms or health insurance, can take a free Covid-19 swab test from a county or state-run site. To get your free test, call (800) 945-6171 or visit gettested.ruhealth.org or visit covid19.ca.gov/get-tested for other testing locations in Riverside County.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE SICK - If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough or shortness of breath), call your health care provider before seeking medical care so that appropriate precautions can be taken. More than 100 community testing sites also offer free, confidential testing: Find a COVID-19 Testing Site.

For more information about what we can do to prevent the spread of COVID-19, visit Coronavirus (COVID-19) in California.

California continues to issue guidance on preparing and protecting California from COVID-19. Consolidated guidance is available on the California Department of Public Health's Guidance web page.

FREE TESTING STILL AVAILABLE AT PALM SPRINGS CONVENTION CENTER The Palm Springs Convention Center, located at 277 N Avenida Caballeros, Palm Springs, is hosting a FREE testing event through Riverside County University Health on November 3 & 4, 2020. Appointments are required and testing is open to all. Book your appointment today at bit.ly/PSConvCen113-420

RANCHO MIRAGE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE REMINDS EVERYONE TO
SHOP EARLY, SAFE & LOCAL
Rancho Mirage Chamber Launches Holiday Shopping Campaign
“LET’S KEEP THE CHEER HERE”

Shop early, safe and local this holiday season. Our Rancho Mirage Chamber of Commerce has launched a holiday shopping initiative which encourages the community to shop early, safe and local this holiday season.

They have created a call to action and a pledge by our community to support our local, independent businesses and “Let’s Keep the Cheer Here” this holiday season.
While it’s easy to focus on what is lost, we have to move beyond what it feels like was lost and find opportunities.

  • The advantages of supporting our local, independent businesses are obvious, but perhaps we need reminding. When dollars are spent with local businesses, that money strengthens those organizations and helps stabilize the jobs they’ve created.
  • Those businesses and their employees in turn are better able to support local charities with their time and money.
  • Spending with independent, local businesses also allows business owners and their employees to provide for their families – ballet, piano, or karate lessons; soccer, little league, or cheer; back-to-school clothes or that first car.

A social media group page called “Giving with Heart: SHOPPING LOCAL” was started by chamber President/CEO Katie Stice and will feature giveaways, specials, small business interviews and more.

For more information on the Shop Local campaign, visit the Chamber's website at
