There's a lot happening in our community this week. This R/M Weekly offers updates about Riverside County Covid-19 tier status, ballot drop off/voter information, the Great California Shakeout, virtual events at our Library & Observatory that you don't want to miss, Desert Theatricals accomplishments, and so much more.

We hope you are finding this weekly update informative. We want to ensure that all of our residents and guests know what's going on in our community and how we are working through 2020 together. We have all had to become a little more creative on how we go about life these days but together, as a community, we will manage to stay strong and carry on!
COVID TESTING IS A MUST IF WE WANT TO GET TO THE NEXT TIER!
At the end of September, Riverside County moved from the more restrictive Purple to Red Tier because it met the criteria for positivity and case rates. In order to maintain our business openings and to advance to the less restrictive Orange Tier, regular testing of residents is required. In order to advance to the next Tier:

  • Our average daily new cases testing positive needs to be less than 4 in 100K, and
  • Our average percentage of positive test results needs to be less than 5%.

While Riverside County has the volume to test 4,000 people a day, less than half that number have been getting tested at county and state testing sites in recent weeks. There are also mobile teams that support testing in specific communities, businesses or organizations by testing for one or two days.

Testing is free. There are 12 testing sites spread throughout Riverside County, both walk-in and drive-up services. To find locations and make an appointment, go online to gettested.ruhealth.org.
