City of Richmond Announces Closings Ahead of Sail Fest 

Richmond, VA In preparation for Richmond SailFest, the City of Richmond will close certain park spaces to vehicular traffic beginning Tuesday, June 9, to accommodate event preparations and operations for Sail Fest. All spaces will reopen for public use on Monday, June 15. The closures are necessary to support event setup, vendor staging, and logistical activities associated with the festival.


Locations to be closed include:

·      Parking lots at Great Shiplock Park and Intermediate Terminal.

·      3200 – 4300 block of Wharf Street

·      Ancarrow’s Landing – to include the boat ramp and the Richmond Trail of the Enslaved trailhead.

·      No Parking on both side of the 4500 – 4700 blocks of Old Main Street between E. Main Street & Orleans Street

·      No Parking on both side of the 00 – 500 blocks of Nicholson Street between E. Main Street & Williamsburg Road.

·      No Parking on both sides of the 3000 – 4000 blocks of E. Main Street between Williamsburg Road and Orleans Street


Pedestrian access to Great Shiplock Park, Dock Street Park, and the Capital Trail may be limited during certain phases of event setup and breakdown. Event attendees and area visitors should follow posted signage and directions from event staff.
