Calling all volunteers! The city of Rosenberg is currently accepting applications for citizens interested in serving on various boards, commissions and committees within the City. Boards, commissions and committee members are volunteer positions essential to the operation of City government who provide valuable insight and direction on various City issues and events.
Positions currently open include:
- Animal Control Shelter Advisory Board
- Building and Standards Board
- Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) Evaluation Committee
- Image Committee
- Parks and Recreation Board
- Planning Commission
- Rental Property Appeals Board
- Rosenberg Development Corporation (RDC) Board
- Water/Wastewater Impact Fee Advisory Task Board
Citizens interested in serving in the positions should fill out the application and submit to City Secretary Danyel Swint at dswint@rosenbergtx.gov or deliver in person or via mail to City Secretary, 2110 4th Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471 by 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 15. The application can be found on the City’s website at https://bit.ly/3oN1b71. City Council members will review the applications and may make position appointments at a City Council meeting in June. Service on a City board, committee or commission is a privilege and responsibility, which could involve a significant time commitment. Citizens must pass a background check before they can serve and if appointed, are expected to attend meetings as scheduled and be an active participant.
