The City of Rosenberg will present the Bayou Bowl All-Star Football Game to be held at Traylor Stadium located at 1000 E. Stadium Drive, Rosenberg, TX 77471, on June 11, 2022, beginning at 7 p.m. The game is open to the public and free to attend. Complimentary tickets will be available at the stadium gate, or tickets may be picked up in advance at the Rosenberg Development Corporation building located at 3829 Highway 36 S.
The Bayou Bowl is an All-Star Football Game featuring 36 of the best football players from the Greater Houston Area East Region against 36 of the best football players from the Houston Area West Region high school teams produced by the Greater Houston Football Coaches Association. This year’s All-Star roster includes three players from Rosenberg: RayShawn Glover from Lamar High School and Anthony Axel and Michael Odom from Terry High School. Other local all-star athletes are: Matt Lambert and Joseph Wilson from George Ranch, and Courage Ugo and Austin Yeager from Foster.
Celebrity coaches for this year’s game are Jackie Sherill and Wade Phillips who will be joined by local head coaches Austin Flynn from Deer Park and Nick Codutti from Fulshear. Jackie Sherill is a former footballer who went on to coach at Washington State University, University of Pittsburg, Texas A&M University and Mississippi State University. He is an analyst for Fox Sport Net’s college football coverage. Wade Phillips has served as head coach of the Denver Broncos, Buffalo Bills, and Dallas Cowboys. He has also served as interim head coach for the New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons, Houston Texans and began his coaching career as the linebackers coach for the Houston Oilers.
