City of Rosenberg Special Events Team Donates $825 to Rosenberg Animal Control and Shelter from 1K Keg Run Proceeds

The City of Rosenberg Special Events Team is proud to announce a donation of $825 to the Rosenberg Animal Control and Shelter (RACS), raised through the proceeds of the 1K Keg Run, held in conjunction with the 4th Annual Downtown Wine and Beer Walk on March 22, 2025.

The 1K Keg Run, a lighthearted and fun run through Historic Downtown Rosenberg, brought together community members and visitors for a good cause—and some good laughs. Participants jogged, strolled, and even danced their way through the short course, all while supporting an important mission: helping the animals in #Rtown.

“We’re thrilled that 100% of the proceeds from the Keg Run went directly to support the Rosenberg Animal Control and Shelter,” said Tanya Kveton, Director of Communications and Community Engagement. “It’s heartwarming to see our community show up—not just for the fun, but to make a real difference. We’re already looking forward to next year and hope to double both participation and our donation!”

This donation will help provide food, medical care, and other necessities for animals at the shelter as they await adoption into loving homes.

The Events Team would like to thank all the participants, volunteers and sponsors who helped make the Keg Run and Wine and Beer Walk a success. We look forward to continuing to host fun, family-friendly events that give back to our beloved community. Save the date for next year’s event set for Saturday, March 21, 2026.
