CITY OF SANTA BARBARA WORKSHOP:
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT
YOUR ALCOHOL LICENSE

On Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 10:30 A.M. to noon , City staff will hold a city-jurisdiction-specific, business-oriented California Alcoholic Beverage Control licensing workshop. The meeting will be facilitated to help foodservice businesses who need help navigating the expansion of their current alcohol license onto the outdoor dining space. According to new emergency measures, those businesses must now adhere to specific ABC regulations tailored to slow the spread COVID19. Alcohol licensed establishments may not serve alcoholic beverages in the expanded space until they receive an emailed written authorization from the Alcoholic Beverage Control – after the vendor submits the required paperwork and pays the State an administrative fee.

On Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 10:30 A.M. to noon, staff will help business owners fill out necessary documentation and draft the required planned license diagram. A State ABC technical expert will also be on hand to help answer questions. After the workshop, the City will facilitate a Thursday document drop off location in the City to expedite the State ABC process. Local alcohol-licensed businesses can sign up ahead of time -- just go to this link below to participate in the workshop:

NOW ALLOWING PARKLETS

A parklet is an innovative way to add (physically distant!) gathering space to public streets. Built and maintained by neighboring businesses, parklets are located in the parking lane adjacent to the curb and designed as an extension to the sidewalk. Any food service business permitted to operate under State and local public health directives may create a parklet, provided the location meets the criteria found on the link below:
