Santa Fe Workers to See Living Wage Raise Beginning March 1, 2024

The City has announced that the updated Living Wage for Santa Fe will be $14.60 per hour as of March 1, 2024. The Living Wage is calculated based on the 12-month total increase of 4.05% in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the Western Region for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers. All employers within the City of Santa Fe are required to pay workers at least the Living Wage. Click here to read more and download this year's Living Wage posters.

In the first week of February, our Office of Economic Development hosted not one, not two, but three different events for our business and entrepreneurial community! From a webinar with resources for Black entrepreneurs to an outdoor recreation industry mixer to another "Equal Grounds" networking event to discuss issues of equity and inclusion in the workplace and beyond, our OED team is running full-steam ahead to support economic development in Santa Fe – and they have even more planned in the coming weeks!

The City of Santa Fe is a lead partner for the 2024 Santa Fe International Literary Festival, which will take place May 17–19. Now in its third year, the festival will bring together world-renowned authors, thinkers, and passionate readers in the celebration of words and story. ICYMI: We're a Silver-level Bicycle Friendly Community!

The League of American Bicyclists has honored the efforts of the City of Santa Fe to build better places for people to bike with a Silver-level Bicycle Friendly Community (BFC) award. The City joins 480 communities across the country in the movement for safer streets and better bicycling for everyone. The award recognizes the City for its commitment to creating transportation and recreational resources that benefit its residents of all ages and abilities while encouraging healthier and more sustainable transportation choices.

The Silver-level BFC award recognizes Santa Fe’s commitment to improving conditions for all people who bike through investments in bike education programs, regular bike events that promote and encourage people to choose biking, pro-bike policies, and bike infrastructure.

The City’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) worked with City staff and community partners to submit a comprehensive application that included data from numerous sources. Click here to learn more!

The City of Santa Fe will be OPEN on Presidents' Day (Monday, February 19, 2024). All offices and facilities will operate on a regular schedule and residential trash/recycling pickup will NOT change. Please place your carts out for collection no later than 7 a.m. on your regular pickup day!

Join Us for a Reading, Reception with New City Poet Laureate

The City of Santa Fe Arts and Culture Department invites community members to a public reception and reading for the City’s new Poet Laureate, Tommy Archuleta, on Saturday, February 24 from 1-2:30 p.m. in the Community Gallery at 201 West Marcy Street.

Archuleta will read from his work and meet and greet with attendees. Refreshments will be provided and admission is free!
