Celebrating Halloween at GCCC

We know it's November now, but we had to take a moment to say THANK YOU to everyone who joined us to celebrate Halloween at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center on Tuesday night! There were so many smiling faces and incredible costumes, and we're so grateful to all the community members who came out to celebrate and chat with our department representatives (Fire, Santa Fe Public Library, Water Conservation, Economic Development, Environmental Services, Animal Services, CONNECT, and more)! We're already planning ahead for next year's festivities – and thank you again to everyone who stopped by for the fun.

City offices and facilities will be closed next Friday, November 10, in observance of Veterans Day. We'll be sending out a detailed closure email early next week, so keep an eye out for more info! (FYI, because this holiday is observed on a Friday, your residential trash and recycling collection schedule will remain the same as a non-holiday week).

The City's Veterans Advisory Board (VAB) has also organized a Veterans Day Celebration honoring all veterans and military families on Saturday, November 11, at the Bataan Memorial Building (400 Don Gaspar). The event will begin with a patriotic musical performance at 10:30 a.m., followed by the official ceremony beginning at 11 a.m.
