"WE ARE A FIRE FAMILY and will support our neighbors to the east without hesitation,” said Santa Fe Fire Chief Brian Moya this week. “We are assisting in fire safety operations in Las Vegas because the local department needs to rest, recover, and take care of their own families. We are just lending a helping hand wherever needed.”

Twenty-five firefighters were dispatched along with a fleet of vehicles. Chief Moya and his chiefs are retaining sufficient safety vehicles in Santa Fe, coordinating staff schedules, and deploying our new cadet class here to ensure all needs within Santa Fe are met. 

Santa Fe Emergency Management Director Brian Williams reports that he and Specialist Kyle Morgan are responding to resource requests and coordinating with the State and County Emergency Operations Centers, the Red Cross, and other partners to address emergency sheltering and longer-term housing of evacuees. Morgan is being deployed to the NM Emergency Operations Center.

DONATIONS of dry goods are accepted at Fire Station 5 only on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The All Together New Mexico Fund is accepting monetary donations; The Food Depot Disaster Relief Fund and the State Employees Credit Union are accepting both dry goods and monetary donations.
