COVID Memorial Day Ceremony Held

Officials, Residents Gather in Salute

The City of Santa Fe remembered the lives lost and the efforts of essential workers at the third annual COVID-19 Memorial Day on The Plaza Monday. In 2021, the Governing Body designated the first Monday in March as a day of remembrance.

Adult Hockey Drops Puck

Adult hockey begins next week at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center.

 

A record 250 adults will play games Monday through Thursday nights in four different leagues from beginner to advanced skill levels. 

 

An adult skills clinic will be held at 7 p.m. on Mondays for those wishing to practice and improve. 

City Awarded $875,000 Grant

The City of Santa Fe's Public Works Department has been awarded over $875,000 in Building Resilient Infrastructure in Communities (BRIC) Federal Emergency Management Agency grant funds. 

 

To meet some of the goals outlined in the 2020 Hazard Mitigation Plan, the Public Works Department awarded $675,000 to the Parks and Open Space Division for the design of the Cerrillos Rd. Stormwater Infiltration Project at Ashbaugh Park.  

 

Another $500,000 was awarded for the design of the Microgrids for Essential Services for Community Resiliency project that will build capacity for emergency response and resiliency for communities as the city prepares for potential disruptions from climate-caused disasters.

Free Lifeguard Training Classes

Beginning Soon

Free lifeguard training courses will be offered online and in-person for positions at Genoveva Chavez Community Center, Salvador Perez and Fort Marcy recreation complexes.


Spring Break training will be held March 25-29 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Blended Learning Courses: online and in-person April 11-13 and May 16-19.


Registration deadline for the Spring Break course is March 22.


Deadline for April Blended Learning: April 4.

2024 Easter Egg Event


10 a.m. to Noon, March 23 | MRC


Bring the whole family and join friends and neighbors to hunt for thousands of eggs filled with prizes, toys, and candy. Keep an eye out for special golden egg prizes, too. Big truck fans can also see and touch the City's recycling, trash, and fire trucks up close.

  • 1-3 year-olds (Parents only allowed to accompany 1-3 age group)
  • 4-5
  • 6-8
  • 9-10

Please arrive by 9:45 a.m. to get lined up on the fields before the hunt begins. Start time is 10 a.m. sharp.
