Asaya Chavez Recognized For Heroism

On Wednesday, elected officials, Santa Fe Fire Department leadership, and local media honored 9-year-old Asaya Chavez for his heroic efforts to save members of his family during a house fire. Asaya was made an honorary firefighter and received a ¡Muchísimas Gracias! certificate from Mayor Webber, as well as a special "Pay It Forward" surprise from KOB 4 TV.

Sunny Summer Spray Downs

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our first Summer Spray Down event at Swan Park! We had a blast and can't wait to see you all at the next ones on Saturday July 1 and July 29 (11 AM @ Swan Park).

OED "Coffee & Collab" Events

Our Office of Economic Development has launched a new "Coffee and Collab" series of connection-building events for the economic development (and related) community organizations/stakeholders. The next event will be a networking breakfast on Monday, June 26, at the NM School for the Arts. More details to follow – mark your calendars!

Bicentennial Tot Pool Reopens

The Bicentennial Tot Pool, which was renovated this spring, has officially reopened! Online reservations are now available for recreation swim sessions at the Bicentennial Tot Pool and Rec Pool, as well as at GCCC. Reserve your spot in advance at www.chavezcenter.com for GCCC or l.ead.me/BCpool for Bicentennial.

Global Ratings Agency Affirms City Bond Ratings; Removes City from CreditWatch

S&P Global Ratings, an independent rating agency, has affirmed the City of Santa Fe’s bond ratings at AAA, AA+, and AA, with a stable outlook, and also removed the City from CreditWatch.

Mayor Alan Webber says, "I’m extremely gratified that S&P has given the City a clean bill of health. Their evaluation says it best: 'Fiscal transparency and well-established financial practices and policies should enable continued strong budgetary performance.' Our Finance team is doing an outstanding job and we should all feel good about this S&P announcement."

Reminder: City offices and facilities are closed on Monday, June 19, in observance of the federal Juneteenth holiday. Residential trash and recycling collection will be on a holiday schedule and there will be NO collection on Monday. More info here.

Join Us for a Special Pushback Ceremony Next Week!

The City of Santa Fe and the Santa Fe Kiwanis Club invite community members to a special pushback ceremony and unveiling of the new theme of SFFD Engine 1 on Friday, June 23, at 10 a.m. at Fire Station 1 (200 Murales Road).

Mayor Alan Webber, City Councilors, the Santa Fe Fire Department, and the Santa Fe Kiwanis Club will kick off the ceremony by unveiling the new, special theme of Engine 1, and then SFFD will officially push the new engine into service. Come celebrate the new engine and be the first to see the exciting new theme!
