35,000 Eggs, Kids, and the Easter Bunny Make for a Fun-Filled Saturday Morning at the MRC

The Municipal Recreation Complex softball fields were filled with thousands of children and 35,000 eggs Saturday morning during the City of Santa Fe’s 2024 Easter Egg Hunt.

Mayor Alan Webber, senior staff, City staff, and members of the Santa Fe Police Department, Santa Fe Fire Department, City Clerk’s Office, Parks and Open Space, and Environmental Services pitched in with prize handouts and concessions.

The children enjoyed discovering one of the 24 Golden Eggs hidden around the four fields. There were brand-new recycling and trash trucks on display.

'Love Your Watershed Day'

Set for May 4 at DeVargas Park

The Santa Fe Watershed Association will host a community-wide celebration of the Santa Fe River on May 4 at DeVargas Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The celebration will include clean-up events, yoga, music, and more.

Vendors from throughout the city will be present. The water dance workshop with Rulan of Dancing Earth will be from 12-1 p.m.

President's Award Honors KFSB

Keep Santa Fe Beautiful (KSFB) has been recognized by the national Keep America Beautiful organization with the President’s Circle Award.

The award recognizes exemplary performance by certified affiliates of Keep America Beautiful in creating clean, green, and beautiful communities.

In qualifying for the President’s Circle Award, KSFB has kept Keep America Beautiful standards of merit by conducting an annual Community Appearance Index that calculates the affiliate’s cost/benefit ratio.

SFPL Set For 'Big Read'

Celebrate “Circe” by Madeline Miller

Santa Fe Public Library is one of 62 organizations nationwide selected to receive a 2023-2024 NEA Big Read grant.

A grant of $20,000 will support the 2024 Santa Fe Reads community reading program focusing on “Circe” by Madeline Miller between April and May 2024.

An initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest, the NEA Big Read broadens our understanding of our world, our communities, and ourselves through the power of a shared reading experience.
