Art is the Solution Grant Program Opens

The Arts and Culture Department has opened its "Art is the Solution: Structural Inequity" grant program. Five grants totaling $10,000 each will be awarded to support art projects that incorporate the issue of structural inequity and its impact on Santa Fe, in order to enrich the experience and understanding of the city for residents and visitors. New at GCCC: Adult Ballet

The Recreation Division will be offering Adult Ballet classes at the GCCC through December 19! Classes are held on Tuesdays from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and are being taught by certified instructor Christine Spizzo. The classes are open to any experience level and are free to members! Animal Services to the Rescue

Last Friday, our SFPD Animal Services Officers responded to a report of dogs on the loose in the area of Mutt Nelson and Cuatro Milpas and were able to capture three dogs they located running at large. During this incident, a resident shared that he had also captured a female dog and her eight pups, which he then turned over to our officers. Momma and her pups were taken to the Santa Fe Animal Shelter & Humane Society for examination, found to be healthy, and are now in foster care until they're ready to be adopted. Kudos to the Animal Services team for the great work!

Welcome Florence!

Florence Frank, a 2023 Bloomberg Harvard City Hall Fellow, has joined the Office of Affordable Housing (OAH) as part of a two-year program to help build government capacity. The Fellowship program places Harvard master’s or professional degree graduates into leadership positions in city halls, where they apply their skills to help build capabilities in city government.

Frank will help to lead the City’s efforts on workforce housing within the OAH, including convening regular meetings with stakeholders, collaborating with other departments, and researching innovative ways other cities have addressed similar challenges. Please join us in welcoming Florence to the City team!
