New Teen Center Officially Open

The new Santa Fe Teen Center opened last weekend with two days of celebration and events for families, friends, and neighbors. Over a decade in the making, the Center is now operating 5 days a week with plans to expand hours and programming based on input from its users – teens ages 12 to 18 – in the coming weeks. The Center is completely free to use after registration and we're so excited to see how our teens make the space their own!

Watershed Steward Workshop

Thank you to our nonprofit partner the Santa Fe Watershed Association and Seeds of Wisdom, LLC., for hosting last week's Watershed Steward Workshop! Attendees at this free event learned about tree pruning practices and rain gardens in the context of creating a healthier watershed in Santa Fe.

Register for Youth Basketball

The Recreation Division is hosting a Fall Youth Basketball League at GCCC and Ft. Marcy! Registration is now open and will continue until Oct. 15, and games will take place on weekday evenings and Saturdays from Oct. 23 to Dec. 9. Click to download the flyer with more info!

Free Solar Eclipse Programs

The Santa Fe Public Library invites friends and families to their upcoming free, educational events to learn more about the 2023 annular solar eclipse, and to a day-of-the-eclipse watch party and follow-up discussion! Click here for the details.

Historic Santa Fe Train Depot Reopens

On Thursday morning, we celebrated the completed renovations of the Historic Santa Fe Train Depot in the Railyard! The building, originally constructed in 1909, underwent a two-year, $1.6 million renovation project to restore the interior and exterior to its original appearance and ensure its continued to use to the community for years to come. Thank you to everyone who joined us to see the finished building and officially welcome it back into service!

City Employees Receive Accolades

Shirlene Sitton, Recycler of the Year

Shirlene Sitton, Environmental Services Division Director, was named Recycler of the Year at the 2023 New Mexico Recycling & Solid Waste Conference earlier this month for her ongoing dedication to improving recycling programs and outreach in Santa Fe.

Kim Rivera, Solid Waste Employee of the Year

Kim Rivera, Account Technician for the Environmental Services Division, was named Solid Waste Employee of the Year at the 2023 New Mexico Recycling & Solid Waste Conference for providing excellent customer service and support to the Division.

Jessica Gulliford, 40 Under 40 Honoree


Jessica Gulliford, Santa Fe Public Library Programs Manager, was named a 2023 40 Under 40 Top Business Leaders award-winner by the Santa Fe Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for her dedication to making a positive impact in our community through her work with the Library.
