IT'S OFFICIAL -- City of Santa Fe employees will receive a $2,000 dollar retention bonus to keep working for City government, and new hires will get a $1,000 hiring incentive. The Governing Body approved these innovative, aggressive initiatives on Wednesday night.
The City, like many employers nationwide, is faced with a high vacancy rate and the labor market is tight. At the same time, the budget is in better-than-expected shape thanks to robust economic activity in town, and Federal and State funding is coming this way. We've got work to do and the financial resources to do it with – so it's imperative to keep the workforce we have, and to attract new talent.
That's why the Human Resources Department is holding a rapid-hiring event at the GCCC tomorrow, December 11, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. As of right now, there are over 100 jobs available, with more to come online in the near future. Applicants need to bring proof of education, a driver's license, and a vaccination card. City personnel will help them job hunt, assist with applications, conduct interviews on the spot, and even issue offer letters.
And nothing says, "The City of Santa Fe Wants You!" like a thousand-dollar signing bonus. So please investigate and spread the word about job opportunities and help the City get up to full strength to accomplish the important work that lies ahead.
