Celebrating Disability Pride Month

On Tuesday, we gathered in front of City Hall for a proclamation reading and flag raising in honor of Disability Pride Month, which is celebrated nationally in July. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the celebration! If you'd like to learn more and read stories from the community, the La Farge Library has a variety of options for all ages available in their Disability Independence Day book display.

The Mayor's Committee on Disability is also seeking applications from Santa Feans who want to work with and for people with and without disabilities to ensure access for all. Learn more and apply here.

Disability Independence Day celebrates the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act on July 26, 1990.

Keep Cool Over the Weekend

We're hoping for rain and cooler temps ahead, but while the heat wave continues, remember you can stop by any of our libraries for free during regular hours to beat the heat. Passes to the GCCC ice arena during public skate hours are also free through Sunday, July 23! Learn more here.

New Bioscience Certification

The Office of Economic Development has worked with the New Mexico Bioscience Authority (NMBSA) to certify the Santa Fe Community College at the Silver level through the NMBSA'S "Community Readiness" certification program! The certification designates SFCC as a "shovel-ready" site for emerging biotech companies/projects and adds another checkbox to Santa Fe's growing list of initiatives supporting the industry.
