City of Santa Fe

Weekly Wrap

Highlights from the Week of December 5, 2022

Municipal Court, Outreach Court

The Santa Fe Municipal Court is collaborating with the Office of the City of Santa Fe Prosecutor, the City of Santa Fe Public Defender, and community providers on an Outreach Court program for community members.

The program is designed to support homeless and precariously housed individuals who have limited means to comply with conditions of the court and face challenges obtaining legal representation. The Outreach Court allows alternative resolutions in lieu of custody, fines, and fees for outstanding non-DUI (DWI) criminal, misdemeanor, and traffic cases.

Santa Fe for the Holidays

We just made the 2022 Condé Nast Traveler's list of the top places in the world – yes, the WORLD – to spend the Christmas holiday!

Santa Fe's charm is international, and this is just more proof. Give yourself a round of applause for being part of what makes our city such a special place.

Welcoming New Police Officers

At the beginning of December, the Santa Fe Police Department swore in seven new police officers: five cadets who will begin academy training in January 2023, and two lateral officers who are immediately preparing for field training. The new additions bring the Department's officer vacancy rate to the lowest it has been in years. Welcome and congratulations to our new SFPD team members!

Parks Volunteer Appreciation

The Old Santa Fe Association has adopted the Salvador Perez Train and surrounding park area through the Parks and Open Space Division's Adopt-A-Park program. Before the weather got too cold this year, they tackled a repainting of the locomotive with new, rust-resistant oil paint and detailed hand-lettering of the train's official number (#5030). Thank you to these volunteers for their efforts to give back to our community!
