Mamava Pods Installed at City Buildings

There's a new feature at the Main Branch of the Santa Fe Public Library and the City's Office of Emergency Management: portable, private lactation pods for breastfeeding mothers. The pods, from manufacturer Mamava, are ADA compliant and can be unlocked via a smartphone app or by asking a staff member. They're open for use to City staff members and members of the public! Code Blue Activated

Yesterday, we implemented Code Blue protocols due to the winter weather conditions reaching the activation threshold (temps under 15 degrees or snowfall greater than 6” and/or freezing rain).

When Code Blue is activated, City staff and community partners take action to get unsheltered people into safe, warm places and to monitor outdoor spaces for at-risk persons. Warming kits with hats, gloves, hand and foot warmers and subzero ponchos are also distributed to those in need.

Code Blue has been City policy for three years and is based on Built for Zero principles.
