CONNECT-211 Ribbon-Tying

United Way and CONNECT hosted a ribbon-tying event on Saturday, February 11, to celebrate their new partnership and the linking of the CONNECT network to United Way’s 211 information and referral Helpline. Mayor Alan Webber, Santa Fe County Commissioners Hank Hughes and Anna Hamilton, and United Way President and CEO Rodney Prunty joined with staff and stakeholders to highlight this expansion of services for community members in need!

The event also unveiled a new "text to donate" hotline to support the program. New signage is on display around Santa Fe to let people know they can call 211 if they need help getting food, shelter, or other support, or, text "CONNECT" to 26989 if they would like to help others by donating to the CONNECT network.

Youth Spring Break Camp

Registration is now open for our Youth Spring Break Camp!

The camp will be held at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., March 20 – March 24.

Kids ages 6 to 12 are eligible to participate. Registration is first-come, first-served and program fees are on a sliding scale based on income.

SFFD Pushback Ceremony

This week, the Santa Fe Fire Department, elected officials, and staff officially put the City's newest ambulance into service with a traditional ambulance "push back" ceremony at Fire Station 7. SFFD has held these ceremonies since the department’s early history to inaugurate new ambulances. The City replaces ambulances as necessary, averaging one per year to stay updated on the newest technology to help paramedics and community members alike.

Kudos to Trash & Recycling Staff

Despite the snow – of which there was quite a bit – our trash and recycling collection truck operators kept things running smoothly and completed collections over the course of the multi-day storm. The Environmental Services Division team deserves a shout-out for all their hard work, so please join us in saying a huge THANK YOU to them for their efforts! CHART "Next-Steps" Resolution

On February 8, 2023, four members of the City Council introduced a resolution directing the City Manager to take next steps based on some of the recommendations of the final CHART report. In particular, it directs the City Manager to create and budget for an Office of Equity and Inclusion, and to hire conservators, designers, and/or historians to determine specific proposals to mend, redesign, and/or reframe the Obelisk. Black History Month Poetry Event

The Santa Fe Public Library invites community members to the Main Library on Saturday, February 18, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. to participate in a presentation by Santa Fe Poet Laureate Darryl Lorenzo Wellington in celebration of Black History Month. Mr. Wellington will present Black Poetry in America, in New Mexico, and Beyond, with selections from his own work and other poets. Click for more info.
