Highlights from the Week of September 12, 2022

Congrats, City Golf Champs

On September 3 and 4, amateur golfers from around Santa Fe competed in the 2022 City Golf Championship at Marty Sanchez Links de Santa Fe. A total of 76 players competed over the weekend, and the following players received first place in their respective flights:


  • Men's City Champion in the Championship flight: Jacob Clemens (shot 73, 69)
  • Women's City Champion: Carisa Padilla (shot 75, 68)
  • Senior City Champion: Robert Schneider (shot 69, 70)

"40 Under 40" Award Winners

The Santa Fe Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has introduced their inaugural "40 Under 40" Top Business Leader Awards this year – and we're proud to announce that three City of Santa Fe employees have made the list! Congratulations to Julie Sanchez, Youth and Family Services Division Director; Cody Minnich, Office of Affordable Housing Project Manager, and Kristine Bustos-Mihelcic, City Clerk & Director of Community Engagement. 

Fiesta Weekend Returns

 After a two-year pause due to COVID-19, the downtown area was once again full of community members for Fiesta de Santa Fe this past weekend. City staff, from Police to Fire to Parks and more, were instrumental the event's logistics to ensure it was a safe and fun experience for all the attendees. Thank you to everyone on our team who contributed to the efforts! 

9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

On Sunday, Sept. 11, the Santa Fe Fire Department held a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at Fire Station 1. The ceremony was open to the community and included commemorative stair climbers; an Honor Guard; the “Striking of the Four Fives,” and, a memorial flower placement for the 343 firefighters who lost their lives while responding to the 9/11 event.

Fitness Court Ribbon-Cutting

Mark your calendars: On Friday, September 23, the Arts and Culture Department will hold a ribbon-cutting for the Keith Haring Fitness Court at SWAN Park (off of Jaguar Dr). Celebrations begin at 9 a.m., and city staff, including members of the Santa Fe Fire Department, will be there to give some fun demonstrations of the new fitness equipment.The City was one of 10 locations nationwide to be selected for this outdoor installation!
