City Donates Property for Future Affordable Homes

On Wednesday, the Governing Body approved the donation of City-owned property in downtown Santa Fe for the development of five low-priced housing units for sale to qualified homebuyers.

Developers Santa Fe Habitat for Humanity and B.Public were selected through an RFP process, and Habitat estimates that these sustainably-built homes will cost approximately $225,000 to construct, with monthly housing payments of $600-$800.

The donation of this site is intended to be the first of a series of dispositions of under-used City-owned property to stimulate the creation of housing units on infill lots. Read more here.
