COVID-19 Memorial Day 2023

Community members are invited to attend the 2023 COVID-19 Memorial Day at 12 PM on Monday, March 6, 2023, on the Santa Fe Plaza.

This event is held to remember all who have passed away, fallen ill, or who continue to suffer from the impact of COVID-19, as well as to honor essential workers.

Compromised Tree Removed

This week, the Parks and Open Space Division worked with a local arborist company to remove a large elm tree with internal splitting in its trunk located in Alto Park. The tree posed a safety hazard because the splitting had created a cavity opening into the tree's root system. Parks will plant three Red Oak trees in replacement of the removed tree in the spring – stay tuned for more info!
