City of Signal Hill E-Newsletter February 2024
Greetings! Welcome to the February 2024 City E-Newsletter. If you are a Gmail user, please move this message to your "Primary" tab to be sure you don't miss an update! We always welcome suggestions and feedback, please e-mail social@cityofsignalhill.org.
Get vote ready by registering to vote or updating your voter registration online at lavote.gov. To obtain a voter registration form by mail, please contact the City Clerk’s office at 562-989-7305. You may also pick up a registration form at City Hall, 2175 Cherry Avenue, during regular business hours.
Become an Election Worker!
The Community Employee Election Worker Program offers a unique learning experience and an opportunity to serve the community. Election workers play an essential role in elections and our democracy. They are trusted community members who assist the in-person voting experience throughout Los Angeles County. Learn about the responsibilities, compensation, and requirements at lavote.gov or contact the City Clerk’s office at 562-989-7305.
View the City's Channel from Anywhere
Residents can now watch the City’s cable channel on our website homepage in addition to downloading the Cablecast app to view programming on their smartphone or smart television. We will roll out more information about our new system on social media and share this news with the community through our newsletters. As staff continue working with the Cablecast system, we will add new content that the City will share across all our communications platforms. The Cablecast App can be downloaded from both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
Reminder - Organic Recycling
A friendly reminder that all green waste, both yard and food, goes in the free green waste cart provided to residents by EDCO. Food scraps include fruit, vegetables, meat, bones, non-liquid dairy, egg shells, and prepared food. Food-soiled paper includes used napkins, tea bags, paper plates, pizza boxes, and coffee filters. For a complete list of green waste guidelines, please visit EDCO's Organic Recycling Webpage
