REMINDER ABOUT CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEARS WEEK SERVICE

Days outlined with a red border on the calendar indicate the adjusted service days.

For these weeks only, all regular service days will shift forward by one day.

Example: If your normal service day is Friday, your collection will take place on Saturday for that week.

What to Know

• Trash carts are serviced every week

• Recycle (R) weeks are marked in blue

Trick or Treat Street in Downtown Sonora!

Cal-Waste had a spooktacular time participating in Downtown Sonora’s Trick-or-Treat Street event for the very first time. Our team dressed up and joined the community for an evening full of Halloween fun, candy, and smiles.

The event gave us a great opportunity to connect with local residents and answer questions about green waste and recycling services. We were thrilled to see so many families stop by our booth and engage with our team.

A special thank-you to the City of Sonora and the community for the warm welcome.

We’re proud to have been part of this festive community event and look forward to more opportunities to connect with our Sonora customers.

Celebrating the Season at the City of Sonora Christmas Parade

Cal-Waste had a wonderful time participating in the Annual City of Sonora Christmas Parade on November 28. This marked our first year being part of this festive event, and we were honored to celebrate the holiday season alongside the Sonora community.

Our team enjoyed decorating the truck and spreading Christmas cheer throughout downtown Sonora. Seeing families, lights, and holiday spirit made the evening truly special.

Sonora, thank you for such a warm welcome. We had an amazing time celebrating with you and look forward to participating again in the years to come.

How to Properly Dispose of Holiday Candles

Holiday candles make our homes cozy, but knowing how to dispose of them correctly is important.

Electronic candles cannot be recycled. Remove the batteries and place them in hazardous waste, then dispose of the candle in E-Waste.

Traditional wax candles and scented candles in glass jars also cannot be recycled or composted. Any leftover wax means they go in the trash.

Wishing you a warm and joyful holiday season. ✨💚

Green waste carts are for organic yard materials such as grass clippings, leaves, pine needles, and branches from pruning.

Paper yard waste bags are allowed and can be placed directly into the green waste cart bag and all. Please remember that plastic bags are never allowed.

When pruning branches, be sure to cut them down so the cart lid can fully close. A good rule of thumb is to keep branches no thicker than the width of your upper arm.

Items that do not belong in the green waste cart include plastic bags, rocks, cement, sod, and large amounts of dirt or soil. Small amounts of dirt are acceptable if attached to plants, but loose soil cannot be collected.
