Green Yard & Food Waste Pick-Up Ends Soon
Get your leaves, pumpkins, pine needles, and other yard debris cleaned up. Curbside yard and food waste customers have until Friday, Dec. 4, to finish their fall yard cleanup before the City of Spokane suspends the collection service for the winter.
Cleaner River Faster Update
Construction of the massive additional level of treatment at the City’s Riverside Park Water Reclamation Facility is continuing. Some 4,600, 6-foot-tall canisters containing hundreds of membrane filter “straws” are being installed in the facility. The membranes will filter out minute particles of pollutants, vastly improving the quality of water released from the plant. The project is part of hundreds of millions of dollars in work to improve the health of the Spokane River.
