Construction Update
Crews finished the concrete grind and overlay and joint repair project of the Maple Street Bridge late Thursday, Nov. 2. The project started Aug. 27 and was completed within the estimated 10-week timeframe. Leaf Pick-Up Is Underway
The City of Spokane has started leaf pickup activities on City streets. Leaf pickup is expected to continue until the middle of December. Our leaf pickup service is intended to remove only the leaves that naturally fall into the streets. Residents SHOULD NOT rake or blow leaves into the street. To view the schedule visit our website.

Winter Is Coming!
City of Spokane Street Department is preparing for snow season and encourages the community to do the same. The community is urged to take time now to prepare for the winter snow removal season:
-
Move your recreational vehicle, boat or trailer, and basketball hoops off the street and to a winter storage location for the snow season. As a reminder, RVs, boats, and trailers cannot exceed 24 hours of continuous on-street parking, according to Spokane Municipal Code.
- Make sure you have adequate snow shovels or a working snow blower. Consider buying some salt or sand.
- Arrange for service with a snow removal company if you don’t want to shovel yourself.
-
Plan where to park throughout the snow season to make room for large equipment to clear the street. Residents are asked to park on the odd-numbered side of the street during snow season to leave a maximum amount of room for plows.
- Talk to your neighbors. Make sure you know who in your neighborhood might need help with shoveling or other winter work and offer to help. Consider signing up to volunteer for a community group that provides snow removal services for those in need.

Inaugural Spokane Neighborhood Summit
Saturday’s inaugural Spokane Neighborhood Summit organized by the City’s Office of Neighborhood Services was designed for Spokane neighbors to gather around community-identified priorities, learn together, and grow practices in their neighborhood councils. Local leaders presented topics relative to the needs of Spokane neighborhoods. The half-day event also featured resources to take home from a resource fair. Neighborhood Councils are independent organizations made up of residents who meet to maintain and improve the quality of life in Spokane, increase resident participation in local decision-making, and form an effective partnership between the City and neighborhood residents. There are 29 Neighborhood Councils within three districts recognized by the City.
