Local COVID-19 Data
Since March of 2020, our City has been dramatically impacted by COVID-19. The community continues to demonstrate strength, innovation and resilience. Information is still being updated as health and economic recovery move forward. Wednesday, Governor Jay Inslee was in Spokane to celebrate the state’s reopening, watch the celebration here! All Washington Residents Age 12+ Eligible for Vaccine
All Washingtonians age 12 and up are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccination. The Governor and the state Department of Health (DOH) have also prioritized equity issues to ensure vaccine access to populations disproportionately affected by the virus, including communities of color and low-income communities.

|
Local Vaccination Distribution Information
Three COVID-19 vaccines have been approved, and are widely accessible throughout the state. Information on the vaccine and its distribution in Washington is found on the DOH website. Learn more details on the SRHD website.

CDC Guidance for Fully Vaccinated People
Currently authorized vaccines in the United States are highly effective at protecting vaccinated people against symptomatic and severe COVID-19. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has published updated interim recommendations for people who have been fully vaccinated. Until more is known and vaccination coverage increases, some prevention measures will continue to be necessary for all people, regardless of vaccination status.

Valerie Sivinski Award
Curtis and Mariajose Rystadt are recipients of the Valerie Sivinski Award for Outstanding Achievement in Historic Rehabilitation. Built in 1911 as the single-room occupancy Willard Hotel to accommodate the influx of Spokane’s many itinerant workers, the hotel, later known as the Otis, closed in 2007. It subsequently sat vacant for more than a decade. In 2018, it was purchased by the Rystadts and extensively rehabilitated into a boutique hotel. To help fund the building’s rehabilitation efforts, the Rystads took advantage of federal historic tax credit as well as Washington’s Special Tax Valuation program. For more information, visit the Washington State Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation website.
