Spokane Parks Community Workshop
Join us virtually tomorrow, Sept. 22, 6 p.m. for a Community-Wide Virtual Workshop to help sculpt the next ten years with City of Spokane Parks.
In this workshop, we will bring together themes that have emerged from focus groups, the Spokane Parks & Natural Lands Master Plan survey, pop-up events and workshops. Community members will be asked to share feedback, and discuss how goals become part of a plan.

American Rescue Plan Virtual Forum
Mayor Nadine Woodward and City Council President Breean Beggs are hosting an American Rescue Plan Virtual Forum. Join the community conversation on the distribution of ARPA funding Tuesday, Sept. 28, 5:30 - 7 p.m., live on CityCable5 and the Spokane City Council Facebook page.

Online Public Meeting: Illinois Avenue Bikeway Design Options
The City wants your help to select a design for bikeway improvements on Illinois Avenue between Cincinnati and Market Street. This meeting will explore several design concepts for these walking and bicycling improvements. Join us virtually on Thursday, Sept. 23, 4:30 p.m., to help in selecting the best design for Illinois Avenue walk and bike improvements.

Rental Assistance Program
The City and its partners are running a rental assistance program to address the hardship faced by our community. This emergency rental assistance program is intended for those who have been disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak. Funds are available for past due, current due, future rent and utilities. For more information visit our website.

Spokane Conservation Celebration
Are you interested in becoming a firefighter? The City of Spokane Fire Department is hiring! Candidates will need to pass the Public Safety Test which consist of a written exam and the Candidate Physical Ability Test. We are offering FREE Public Safety Testing, Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Fire Training Center. Sign up online!

All Washington Residents Age 12+ Eligible for Vaccine
All Washingtonians age 12 and up are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccination. The Governor and the state Department of Health (DOH) have also prioritized equity issues to ensure vaccine access to populations disproportionately affected by the virus, including communities of color and low-income communities.

CDC Guidance for Fully Vaccinated People
Currently authorized vaccines in the United States are highly effective at protecting vaccinated people against symptomatic and severe COVID-19. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has published updated interim recommendations for people who have been fully vaccinated. Until more is known and vaccination coverage increases, some prevention measures will continue to be necessary for all people, regardless of vaccination status.

Utility Payment Options
We know that the pandemic has created economic hardship for many of the City’s utility customers. Assistance with monthly City utility bills for water, sewer, and solid waste is available during the COVID-19 pandemic:
Residential property owners as well as tenants can seek direct financial assistance through the City's U-Help program by calling 456-SNAP. Utility Billing can also provide interest-free payment plans for residential customers. More information.
Business owners with an active City of Spokane utility account, may qualify for a small business assistance utility bill deferral. More information.

Volunteer at Riverfront Park!
Are you a people person? Do you know downtown and Riverfront Park like the back of your hand? Then this volunteer opportunity is for you! Duties include:
- Greet guests, visitors, and others at various Riverfront Park locations.
- Answer guest questions about park amenities and entertainment.
- Direct guests to the areas such as restaurant, attractions, restrooms and other amenities.
- Monitor activities at entrances and lobbies.
- Alert park management of service and/or security requests.

Spokane County Meals on Wheels is in need of route drivers to deliver meals to seniors in your neighborhoods. Meals on Wheels would love to have volunteers that are willing to take on dedicated routes for specific areas, but are also happy to accept those who can dedicate just a few hours a week for meal deliveries.
