Understanding the Navigation Center-Scattered Site Shelter Model
The City of Spokane is heading in a new direction with the launch of a navigation center and scattered site shelter model. The navigation center offers temporary housing and targeted services for 20-30 people, while scattered sites focus on specific communities like families, vulnerable adults, and people in recovery. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to address the root causes of homelessness, including lack of affordable housing, domestic violence, and employment barriers. Learn more about this model in Mayor Lisa Brown's monthly newsletter.
