Construction In Northwest Spokane

Four construction projects are impacting northwest Spokane.

  • TJ Meenach Bridge is closed through Friday, Aug. 4.
  • Northwest Blvd. between Gustavus St. and Bemis St. is closed through Friday, Aug. 4.
  • Northwest Blvd. grind and overlay between Garland Ave. and Wellesley Ave. will start Wednesday, Aug. 2. 
  • Sidewalk installation on Alberta St., Cochran St., and Driscoll Blvd. coming soon.

Cooling Center Donations Needed

If community organizations or individuals would like to donate resources to be used during heat waves for individuals in need in Spokane, consider donating bottled water, Gatorade/Powerade, other caffeine-free hydration drinks and sunscreen. Gatorade/Powerade powder that is mixed with water goes farther than pre-mixed hydration drinks. Please email the Emergency Management Department to arrange donations.

Hillyard Plan To Feature Revitalization Strategies

The City wants to hear from you to create a vision for Hillyard’s future! The Hillyard Subarea Plan encompassing 1,740 acres will build on previous community input and feature revitalization and funding strategies to improve the quality of life and economic opportunity in the historic neighborhood. City planners’ first outreach on the plan will be on Saturday, Aug. 5 during the Hillyard Festival.
