City of Tukwila business licenses will transfer to state BLS system on March 28, 2019

The City of Tukwila has partnered with the Washington State Department of Revenue's Business Licensing Service (BLS). As of the March 28, 2019 effective date, BLS will process all City of Tukwila business licenses and renewals.  Businesses will be able to use BLS to apply for, or renew, a City of Tukwila business license at the same time they apply for, or renew, other state and local licenses.

Postcards notifying businesses of the change will be mailed out to all Tukwila businesses in early March.  Informational outreach to the Chamber of Commerce and posts to social media will occur over the next several weeks.  In addition, the Finance Department will be setting up a kiosk so that businesses can apply to the BLS for their business licenses at the front counter in City Hall.

Over 55? Please take our Tukwila Senior Services Assessment Survey

Over 55? We want to know what kinds of activities and programs you need and want.  The City is currently assessing recreation programs and services for older adults.  Results will be used to help plan future activities and services.

Please take our short survey and share your thoughts by March 1, 2019.

Among the methods available to Tukwila utility customers for paying their bills was an automated interactive phone system.  Due to minimal use of that system, the City has chosen to cancel the service effective March 1, 2019.  Utility payments may still be made via the web, by mail, in person at the Finance Department counter in City Hall, or over the phone.  As an additional option, the Finance Department is installing a kiosk at City Hall for use by customers to pay bills.  The kiosk will also be available to apply for, and renew, a business license.  Look for the kiosk to be fully operational in April.
