City Lights Bright Holiday Nights
During the holiday season, White Plains greets residents and visitors to the downtown area with festive holiday street lighting. Watch the festive display come to life.

Frosty snowflakes and holly leaves with bright red berries brighten the downtown during the dark winter months of December and January and Renaissance Plaza, popularly known as Fountain Park, located at Main Street and Mamaroneck Avenue is home to a brightly lit 30-foot holiday tree and a new winter themed light display. Please click on the photo above for a glimpse of the new light display at Renaissance Plaza. We hope you will be sure to walk over to the fountain and enjoy this festive display when visiting the downtown area.

Our special thanks go to Department of Public Works employees Vinny Nolletti, Fred Antoniuk and Marco Masucci of the Bureau of Public Facilities and to Louis Capelli for his generous contribution of the centerpiece tree.
You Can Brighten the Season for Others
This year, due to the public health crisis, we are seeing more people in need in our community. Every act of generosity counts and everyone has something to give - so spread some cheer and volunteer your time and/ or your resources!

Listed below are links to a sampling of local organizations that depend on volunteers and/or donations to fulfill their mission of helping our neighbors.

Attention 2 to 12 Year Olds --
The New Gillie Playground Is Ready for Action!
White Plains Mayor Tom Roach and members of the Common Council cut the opening ribbon at the newly refurbished playground at Gillie Park on November 17.

The new playground, which is ADA compliant, has separate areas for 2 - 5 year olds and 5 - 12 year olds. It is fully accessible and inclusive for all children. At the corner of Mamaroneck Ave. and Gedney Way, free parking is available just steps away.

“Parks are an extremely important amenity and the City takes pride in providing quality active and passive recreation spaces for its residents,” said Mayor Roach. “This investment at Gillie is part of our ongoing commitment to our parks.”

Since 2013, the City has completed playground renovations at Delfino, Kittrell, Turnure, Druss, Mattison, and now Gillie Parks, created at Dog Run at Battle Hill Park and expanded the Jack Harrington Greenway Walking Trail.
