Proposed Aldi in Windsor Heights
Colby Properties is looking to add an Aldi store in Windsor Heights. At the 10/18 City Council meeting, the Council approved a TIF rebate request. The project will move on to the Planning & Zoning Commission, Board of Adjustment, and then back to the Council for final approval. Public comment is provided at each step in the process.

The City of Windsor Heights is partnering with the DNR and Keep Windsor Heights Beautiful to provide free trees and shrubs to residents. The giveaway will take place on November 11th and 12th from 4-6 pm in Colby Park. Click the button below to learn about the different tree and shrub varieties that will be available.
Do you have a truck enthusiast in your family? Come to Colby Park on Friday, November 12th to explore city trucks! There will be a snow plow, end loader, skid loader, pickup, fire truck and police car! The event runs from 4 - 6 pm.
City of Windsor Heights Buildings will be closed November 25th and 26th in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Trash, recycling, and yard waste pickup will be pushed back one day to Saturday, November 27th.
The last pickup day of the 2021 Compost It! season is Saturday, November 27th. After the regular season ends, there will be two more chances for yard waste pickup during Winter Collection on Friday, December 31st and Friday, January 7th. Both carts and bags from 2021 can be used for Winter Collection. Wreaths and garlands won't be accepted, but Christmas trees with a sticker will be picked up.

If you were close, you would have been notified of the need for CPR and you may have been able to start CPR before our teams arrived. This is a great product to help others in need!
Nuisance Wildlife Management
Occasionally, the City receives calls related to nuisance wildlife in the community. Did you know the Iowa DNR has a Nuisance Wildlife Control Operations (NWCO) program? NWCO are licensed by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources suggests that if you have a nuisance wildlife problem with your home, business or property; contact the NWCO nearest you. NWCO's are a private business, and are not an agent or employee of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources or the City of Windsor Heights. Flood Reduction and Resiliency Plan Update
The City of Windsor Heights and JEO Consulting Group (JEO) hosted a second virtual public meeting to provide an update on the Windsor Heights Flood Reduction and Resiliency Plan on October 20th. Click the link below to learn more about the plan and to watch a recording of the meeting.
Have your next event at the Windsor Heights Community Center! Windsor Heights residents receive a 25% discount off of the rental fee. This signature facility can seat over 200 people. Since opening in 2010, the facility has hosted wedding receptions, birthday parties, corporate meetings, and countless other events.
