After a denial by the Planning Commission, China Tibetan Herbal Feet Soak is appealing to the City Council for a conditional use permit to continue operating their business.

Drop off your bulky items this Saturday
City hosting community cleanup from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Get ready, San Gabriel! The City is hosting another community cleanup event on March 3 at the Public Works Yard. This is your chance to bring bulky items, electronic waste and hazardous waste for proper disposal.

If you are unable to attend, you may also arrange a free pickup. Athens Services provides free pickup of up to two items - such as furniture or an appliance - per week. Electronic waste - such as televisions - are limited to two free pickups per year.
SGPD holds second Chinese outreach meeting
Meeting discussed mental health, child abuse and traffic laws
This past weekend, the San Gabriel Police Department held its second Chinese outreach meeting at the Asian Youth Center. This is the second event in a series of outreach efforts that the department has been holding to reach out to Chinese-speaking residents of the city.

Chief Harris, Detective Nhat Huynh, Officer Andy Texeira, and Officer Gilbert Magana were all on hand to represent and discuss the department's role in the community, with translations provided by Reserve Officer Jack Yao.
Sheraton Los Angeles San Gabriel officially opens
New hotel marks the latest addition to Valley Boulevard
This past Thursday, the Sheraton Los Angeles San Gabriel officially opened its doors to the public. Featuring dignitaries from San Gabriel and across the region, the event featured a lion dance to help commemorate the latest addition to Valley Boulevard.

Explore Ravi Shankar's music at the Playhouse
Experience classical Indian music with talented musicians and vocalists
On March 17, take a journey into Ravi Shankar's music with his senior disciples Gaurav Mazumdar on the sitar, Barry Phillips on the cello, Ashwini Shankar on the shenai and Arup Chattopadhyay on the tabla.

In addition, enjoy classical Indian music from vocalist Debapriya Adhikary and sitar player Samanwaya Sarkar. This dynamic duo has performed throughout the United States and at festivals around the world.
