SGFD safety tips: frying a turkey
Follow these tips for a safe Thanksgiving holiday
Fried turkeys are delicious, but be sure to follow some safety tips from the San Gabriel Fire Department in order to have a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving.
First, find a flat ground for the fryer to ensure that the oil remains even and steady. Keep the turkey fryer away from your home, children and pets, and use a thawed or dry turkey to prevent a fire. Finally, monitor the turkey fryer's temperature, and be prepared for a fire with a multi-purpose, dry-powder fire extinguisher. Happy Thanksgiving!
