A preview of the February 6 City Council agenda is now available online.

This agenda includes information on the San Gabriel Police Department's MOU with Homeland Security Investigations, the proposed restoration of the Mission Playhouse facade, a proposal to enter into a $100,000 contract to assess and repair the city's sidewalks and more. 
New San Gabriel Sheraton officially opens
New hotel features 288 guest rooms, steakhouse and convention space
Last week, the new Sheraton Los Angeles San Gabriel officially opened to the public.

Featuring 288 guest rooms, large meeting space and two restaurants, the Sheraton is the latest addition to Valley Boulevard. Before its opening, we had the opportunity to take a tour of the completed hotel. You can view photos from the tour at the link below.
Lunar New Year Festival ramping up
Festival to take place on February 10 in the Mission District
As we gear up for the upcoming San Gabriel Lunar New Year Festival, we spoke with artists LATE of ODD FOLKS and Perry & Danielle to learn more about their musical backgrounds as they prepare for the show.

San Gabriel participates in 2018 homeless count
Count designed to address the homeless population in the region
Last week, volunteers from San Gabriel participated in the annual homeless count hosted by the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority. This annual count is designed to gather census information about the homeless population and to react appropriately with programs and initiatives.

Ray Fuller and friends at the Playhouse this Saturday
Enjoy a night of jazz, soul, pop or gospel
Do you like jazz, soul, pop, or gospel? Come to the Playhouse this Saturday evening, February 3 at 8:00 p.m. for Ray Fuller & Friends: Celebrating Our History Through Music.

Learn about Ray and his musical guests Elaine Gibbs, Paulette McWilliams, Brian Simpson, and Jeff Robinson. These musicians have worked with some of music's greatest artists, including Whitney Houston, Branford Marsalis, Aretha Franklin, and Michael Jackson.
Need tax assistance?
Community Services & AARP to offer tax assistance to older adults
It's tax season again! Are you 50 years of age or older and are looking for some assistance with your tax return? The San Gabriel Community Services department and AARP are offering free tax assistance for older adults. AARP tax preparation will take place at the Community Recreation Center located at 250 South Mission Drive for tax payers with low to moderate income.
