We hope you had a great Halloween, and thank you for attending this year's Fall Fun Festival! As we head into November, be sure to watch a video update from the San Gabriel Police Department for some news and tips on how to stay safe as we approach the holiday season.

In addition, the San Gabriel Library will be holding a historical photo scanning day this Saturday at the San Gabriel Historical Association from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The library, in conjunction with the San Gabriel Historical Association, will be digitizing your photos for free. Complimentary USB drives will be provided.

Marshall Community Park to open in December
Public Works releases status report of projects in the city
As we begin the month of November, our Public Works department has released an update of construction projects taking place in the city.

Some notable items include the December opening of Marshall Community Park, the nearing completion of the San Gabriel Boulevard/Mission Road intersection improvements and some upgrades at Vincent Lugo Park.

Preserve your photographic memories on November 4
Scan your old family photos at the San Gabriel Historical Association
Preserve your memories for generations by scanning your old family photos at the San Gabriel Historical Association on November 4 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 546 West Broadway. Scanned photos will be added to the library's local history page, and participants will be given a free USB drive with their digitized photos.
Join San Gabriel's youth basketball league
This year's league runs from December 11 through March 24
It's basketball season! Designed for kids in first through sixth grade, this co-ed program is open to all who would like to participate. All practices and home games will be at Jefferson Middle School, and the league begins during the week of December 11 and runs through March 24.
Mission Playhouse to host Chinese dance festival Nov. 4
Festival to be presented by the Chinese American Dancing Group
Experience the rich culture of China through wonderful music and dazzling costumes as the Chinese American Dancing Group presents their annual dance festival this Saturday, November 4 at 7:00 p.m. The group has been producing beautiful performances for over 30 years.
San Gabriel Library to hold teen charity drive Nov. 18
Drive will support the Children's Hospital Los Angeles 
The San Gabriel Library will be hosting a teen book drive beginning on November 18 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in support of Children's Hospital Los Angeles. There will be face-painting, balloon art, food and games organized by San Gabriel Library teen volunteers. Visitors are encouraged to bring a new children's book for the drive, which runs from November 18 to December 2.

We have light! New lighting fixtures have been installed near the San Gabriel trench.
Construction notice:
Pease be advised that Mission Road at the railway crossing will continue to be closed until November 7 while ACE removes the temporary railroad tracks to perform pavement work. Northbound and southbound traffic lanes will be closed to traffic, and pedestrian access at the railroad crossing will be available most of the time. A detour along with additional information can be found here.

In addition, construction on San Gabriel Boulevard between Commercial Avenue and Santa Fe Avenue will occur from now until December 4 while crews remove the temporary railway tracks. The street will remain open with at least one lane of traffic maintained in each direction while construction takes place. Finally, access to Angeleno Avenue will be restricted during the first phase of this project. Business access and pedestrian access will remain available. More information may be found here.
