Spring Priority Enrollments Start 11/23

On Nov. 12, students will receive an email with their Spring 2021 priority enrollment appointment date and time. This date and time is their first opportunity to enroll in classes via eServices, but they can register any time following that appointment throughout the registration period. This is not a counseling appointment. If students need to make a counseling appointment, they need to contact the Counseling office. Priority enrollment begins Nov. 23.

Virtual Career Fair

Please encourage students to attend the Los Rios Virtual Career Fair on Nov. 17! This is a great chance for students to meet with employers from various industries and explore different career opportunities! Students should have received an invite to register via Handshake on Nov. 4. Students need to update their Handshake profile prior to the event. They also can upload their resume in advance of the event.

Unsung Heroes: Saluting African Americans in the Military

Monday, Nov. 9, 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Join us for guest presenter Lisa Daniels, the Executive Director of the Unsung Heroes Living History Project as she shares her story and walks us through the history of African American veterans. The Unsung Heroes Project salutes and preserves the legacy of African Americans in the military in multiple ways by collecting life stories, documents, recordings, and pictures of veterans and their families. This event is open to the Los Rios community!

Great American Smokeout

Are you a smoker and would like to quit?

Nov. 19 is the date for this year's Great American Smokeout. Quitting smoking isn’t easy. It takes time. And a plan. You don’t have to stop smoking in one day. Start with day one. Let the Great American Smokeout event be your day to start your journey toward a smoke-free life. You’ll be joining thousands of people who smoke across the country in taking an important step toward a healthier life and reducing your cancer risk. Plus, the American Cancer Society can help you access the resources and support you need to quit.

President Gutierrez's Office Hour

President Gutierrez will be holding an office hour twice a month during the Fall semester. Office hours will be held on the second Friday at 8:30 a.m. and fourth Thursday at 2:30 p.m. The next upcoming office hour will be Friday, Nov. 13, 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Please look for an email prior to each event to sign up. Zoom info will be sent via a calendar invite on the day before the event to those who signed up.
