Thank You, Veterans
We are closed Wednesday, Nov. 11, in honor of those who served.
Preferred Email
With the vast majority of our classes and services online, email is more important than ever. That is why Los Rios is now allowing you to personalize your email preferences to make sure you get the information you need to be successful in your studies! Instead of college or district emails always coming to your Los Rios Gmail address, you can now select a “preferred email account” to receive messages to whatever email you want!

Adding a preferred email is easy! Just:
  • Log into eServices and click on the “Profile” tile.
  • Select “Contact Details (on the left)
  • Select the email you want to use, and click on the check box next to “preferred.” NOTE: If you are also a Los Rios employee, your Los Rios business email is set to preferred by default.

To receive Canvas messages in your “preferred email,” follow these easy steps:
  • Login to Canvas and click on “Account.”
  • Click on “Settings.”
  • Click on “+email address.”
  • Click on “Register Email.”
  • Confirm the change in your new email and finish the registration process.
  • Modify notifications under “Account” → “Notifications” to pick what email address you want to use for different types of messages.

If you want to keep using Los Rios Gmail for all college and district messages, that’s fine too! If you do nothing, email communications will continue to be sent to your Los Rios Gmail account.

And don’t worry, if you choose another email address as your preferred account you will still have the same access to your Google Suite of products, including Los Rios Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs and Drive, and additional tools such as Google Classroom, Google Hangouts, and Groups for Business.

If you have questions about your Los Rios Google account, please contact the Help Desk at helpdesk@losrios.edu or (916) 568-3012 (press 5).
Virtual Career Fair
Please plan to attend the Los Rios Virtual Career Fair on Nov. 17! This is a great chance for students to meet with employers from various industries and explore different career opportunities! Students should have received an invite to register via Handshake on Nov. 4. Students need to update their Handshake profile prior to the event. They also can upload their resume in advance of the event.
Black Excellence Symposium
UC Davis' Black Excellence Symposium, on Saturday, Nov. 7, 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., features breakout sessions in which faculty and alumni lead panels on career paths and leadership opportunities.
