National Voter Registration Day is Tuesday, September 20

National Voter Registration Day is celebrated every year on a Tuesday in September. First organized in 2012, it is the nation’s largest, nonpartisan civic holiday dedicated to celebrating our democracy by registering as many eligible Americans to vote as possible through the collective efforts of thousands of volunteers, nonprofit organizations, businesses, schools, libraries, and election officials. The next California election will be the 2022 Primary Election on November 8, 2022.

Student Mental Health Services

In-Person

Starting Sept. 19 all campuses will offer in-person mental health services Monday through Thursday. Service hours will align with the operation hours for the respective campuses' health centers.

Virtual Appointments

Virtual appointments are accessible five days a week. If you need an online drop-in session for mental health support, you can access the “Talk Now” feature in TimelyCare.

How to Make an Appointment

Students can self-refer or staff can refer a student through the Center for Mental Health and Wellness.

Anyone having a serious psychiatric emergency should call the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by dialing 988 or call 911.

Community Sign-Up for Emergency Alerts

Please spread the word that members of the community - such as vendors, neighboring schools and businesses, and parents - can sign up to receive Los Rios emergency alerts. To receive regular, ongoing alerts, folks just need to text LOSRIOS to 67283 from their mobile phone.

Campus visitors can also sign up to receive temporary alerts. This can include people who are attending athletics or arts events on our campuses. To sign up for temporary alerts, people need to text LREVENT to 67283 from their mobile phone. People will be automatically unsubscribed after 48 hours.

Fall 2022 Transfer Week

The Los Rios Transfer Centers are offering both in-person and virtual options during Fall 2022 Transfer Week, September 26 to October 3. During this week of events, students can learn about transferring to more than 50 colleges and universities, including:

California State Universities (CSU)
Universities of California (UC)
Independent and/or private colleges and universities
Out-of-state colleges and universities

Students can meet with college and university representatives and learn about the application process, financial aid, programs, and scholarships. All Los Rios students are invited to participate in any of the following events!

Monday, September 26 - Transfer Day at Cosumnes River College from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm in the CRC Fountain Quad
Wednesday, September 28 - Transfer Day at American River College from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Student Center Community Rooms
Thursday, September 29 - Transfer Day at Sacramento City College from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm in the SCC Central Quad
Monday, October 3 - Virtual Transfer Day Hosted by Folsom Lake College from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm online
