Introducing an Improved Student Major Change Process!
We’re excited to announce a new process that allows students to change their major by logging into eServices. This process is more streamlined and efficient by no longer requiring students to submit a form for staff to process manually for the upcoming term. Students will be able to get into their degree programs sooner and stay on track for their academic goals!
Changes made before the Sunday, March 3 major change deadline will go into effect in the current term. Changes made after the deadline will be effective in the upcoming term. Counselors also will be able to make major changes.
For more information on the process, direct students to visit the Admissions and Records Forms and Petitions webpage and click on “Major and Educational Goal Change.”

Now Recruiting for SCC Scholarship Reviewers
Scholarship season is in full swing, and SCC students are busy applying for scholarships that allow them to pursue their academic, professional, and personal goals. Last year, 295 SCC students received more than $265,000 in scholarship funds thanks to staff and faculty commitment, time, and support in helping to review the applications. This year, you can be part of the process and help students achieve their dreams. If you are interested in being a scholarship reviewer, contact Liz Starbuck at starbue@losrios.edu by Friday, March 1.

Discover a moment of peace in our Meditation and Reflection Space - a safe, quiet place created for students, staff, and faculty to meditate, reflect or pray.
Reservations:
- Open to current students, staff, and faculty.
- Secure your spot at the Engagement & Completion counter; South Gym (SOG-226).
- Available in 30-minute increments in the morning and post-2:00 pm.
- Opt for 15-minute slots between 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

Join the Ghana All African Diaspora Education Summit
We are excited to announce the opportunity for a cohort of fellows from SCC to attend the 2024 All African Diaspora Education Summit in Ghana! The fellows will consist of a small select group of diverse change agents (faculty/classified/management staff) who have visibly and consistently championed the success of Black/African American students at SCC and who are committed to equity, culturally responsive practices, and fostering inclusion through meaningful relationships.

Would you like to learn how to make Canvas pages more accessible? Canvas has built-in tools that make it easier to create accessible pages and assignments. This workshop will show how to review and edit a Canvas page to make it more efficient. Fresh Start Workshop for Students
The Fresh Start Program supports students who fall into probation or dismissal status by offering specific support and advice on how they can get back on track and return to good standing. This year, the counseling office is offering in person appointments as well as virtual meetings via Zoom.

Presidents' Day Weekend is Coming
Sacramento City College will be closed Friday, February 16, and Monday, February 19 in observance of Presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln's birthdays. No classes will be held and all college offices will be closed.

It's that time of the semester to join Caring Campus, SCC's webmaster, Dawn Pedersen, and Public Information Officer Crystal Lee for our dedicated time to update our campus webpages. Join us online via Zoom on Wednesday, February 21 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Your communications experts will be available to help answer questions, offer news and updates, and provide expert advice during our breakout sessions for division/service area teams, or colleagues with similar workloads.
Topics to discuss include:
- Updates and changes on public-facing SCC webpages and Inside SCC web pages
- Review and test strength/clarity of search results
- Reflect on how end users engage with your web pages and content
- Update your Caring Campus created Fast Facts(Charts of Services)
- Update campus web directory info
- Share suggestions and ideas with others
