Volunteer and Make a Difference at Celebrate City!

We're gearing up for an unforgettable day at Sacramento City College's 2nd annual Celebrate City open house on Friday, April 19! But we can't do it without your help. We’re looking for enthusiastic individuals to volunteer and lend a hand with setup, guiding attendees, or providing general support.

Call for Mini Grant applications

Do you have a great idea for a project that will improve the student experience, the teaching and learning environment, contribute directly to equitable outcomes for students and/or impact student success? Propose it as part of the Mini Grant process!

Mini Grants may be used to buy equipment and supplies, or to help support research, coursework, or other projects/activities directly related to the college’s educational mission.



Mini Grant awards are made possible by the support of donors to the SCC Fund. Because of their generosity, this year we will be able to fund grants of up to $4,000.

Attention Poets of SCC!

SCC’s Library is looking for a few good poets to participate in a display for National Poetry Month this April. Submit your poem at the Research Help Desk on the 2nd floor of the LRC or email a copy to Judy Howe. Make sure to include your name and email in the body of the message.

The poems will be displayed throughout the month of April. Stop by the Research Help Desk if you have any questions.

SEAP Projects for Students Info Event

Canvas Accessibility Basics

Body Mapping Workshop with Dr. Nicole Andrews

Financial Aid Priority Deadline is April 2

The priority deadline for students to submit their 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CADAA) is Tuesday, April 2. However, information is rapidly changing, and the deadline may be further extended. We suggest that students begin the process today. This will ensure they have time to address any questions that may come up as they complete the application. Direct students to visit the Financial Aid and Fees webpage for more assistance and helpful resources!

Successful Custodian Appreciation Day Organized by PTK 

PTK Beta Eta Psi's Projects Committee organized a day of appreciation for our wonderful custodians. We provided lunch for the morning and afternoon shifts of custodians as a gift of appreciation and presented a display of notes from students and PTK members. PTK Beta Eta Psi is grateful for all the hard work the custodians do to keep our campus beautiful! Remember to show your appreciation to our wonderful custodians every day!

César Chávez Holiday Observed April 1

Sacramento City College will be closed on Monday, April 1, in honor of César Chávez. No classes will be held, and all college offices will be closed.

Chávez made a lasting impact on America’s farmworkers through his work as a labor leader and civil rights activist. This holiday promotes community service in honor of Chávez's life and work. Learn more about César Chávez
