Summer 2025 Session
Open enrollment for summer classes is happening now! There are still available spots in many classes that can help students stay on track or get ahead. Interested students are encouraged to enroll now via eServices. The summer session starts Monday, June 9.

Fall 2025 Semester
The fall schedule includes both in-person and online course offerings. Open enrollment began on May 13, so students should make sure to choose and enroll in their classes early to get the classes they want and need. Classes start the week of Saturday, August 23.

SCC Women's Sophomore Forward Makes WBCA All-American
Congratulations to Joyce Mulumba, Sophomore Forward, who was nominated as 1 of 35 players in the country to receive the 2025 WBCA Two-Year College Coaches' All-American Honorable Mention Award!
Mulumba led the nation in Rebounding this season on all levels of College Basketball. She is the first player in SCC's Women's Basketball history to be nominated for such a prestigious award since 1989, when Kim Martinez was nominated. It has been 36 years since any player has received recognition for the title "All-American" in any capacity at SCC.
Founded in 1981, the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association is the professional association for coaches of women’s and girls’ basketball at all levels of competition.
Mulumba was recently featured in an article in The Express.

Distinguished Service Award Spotlight: Katelyn Wong
Katelyn Wong is graduating from SCC with a 4.0 GPA in Mechanical Engineering and transferring to UC Berkeley this fall to pursue a career in aerospace. Known for her exceptional time management and leadership, Katelyn juggled a 19-unit course load while serving as:
- Captain of SCC’s Cross Country & Track team
- MESA Student Ambassador
- Phi Theta Kappa member
- Math tutor
She also interned at Teledyne Microwave Solutions, conducted research at UC Davis, and participated in NASA’s Aerospace Scholars program. Katelyn leaves a legacy of academic excellence, leadership, and service at SCC.

Professor Miller Featured in CalSTRS Video
SCC Sociology Professor Nicholas Miller was recently featured in a CalSTRS video, highlighting his work developing a program for formerly incarcerated students.
"So many adult children are actually trying to work and manage families and take classes," Miller said. "I just feel really lucky that I get to be part of this adult learning process."
The video is part of an ongoing series spotlighting California's public school educators.

Student Refund Deadline
The deadline for students to submit a refund request for the Spring 2025 semester is Thursday, May 22. Students can submit a refund application through eServices. For more information on the process, visit the Refunds webpage.
Grades Due
Thursday, May 29, is the deadline for faculty to submit grades for the Spring 2025 term. Note: The grade submission deadline is critical after each academic term because students cannot get a transcript for transfer or employment purposes when grades are not submitted on time. Thanks for your help!

"Truth Be Told" Poster Exhibit Showcases SCC Student Work at the California Railroad Museum
SCC’s Design & Digital Media department was recently awarded a grant to support an innovative student project titled “Truth Be Told.” This initiative engaged ten Digital Illustration II students in creating paired travel posters for four Sacramento State Parks—each set exploring contrasting truths in historical storytelling.
The project kicked off with a class lecture from renowned poster designer Michael Schwab – a well known designer, followed by student research into both mainstream and marginalized narratives associated with local parks. Using a human-centered design approach, students gathered oral histories, analyzed records, and ultimately illustrated powerful poster sets that challenge traditional perspectives.
The final posters will be displayed in an exhibit at the California Railroad Museum starting in late May, ending in September 2025.
Faculty and staff are encouraged to visit and support the incredible work of our students as they amplify diverse voices and untold stories through art and design.

Refugee Career Pathways: Graduation and Achievements Celebration
All immigrant and refugee students are invited to celebrate their accomplishments this academic year, whether they are graduating with an associate's degree, have earned a certificate, or have completed a Vocational ESL program. They are encouraged to bring their friends and family and join the celebration on Tuesday, May 20, at 7:00 pm at the Ethan Way Center (1410 Ethan Way in Sacramento). Light snacks and beverages will be provided.

Memorial Day Holiday
Note that Sacramento City College will be closed in observance of the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, May 26. All college offices will be closed.
