Free Narcan and Fentanyl Test Strips
Student Health and Wellness will now offer FREE Narcan and Fentanyl Test Strips, along with harm reduction tips, to students. Narcan and Fentanyl Test Strips are tools that can save lives in the event of an opioid overdose. Even if you don't anticipate needing them for yourself, having them on hand could make all the difference for a friend or family member in need.

For those who observe the holy month of Ramadan, we want to remind you of the peaceful sanctuary available to you right here on campus! Find a moment of peace in our Meditation and Reflection Space - a safe space created for students, staff, and faculty to meditate, reflect or pray located in SOG 226.
Reservations:
- Open to current students, staff, and faculty.
- Secure your spot at the Engagement & Completion counter; South Gym (SOG-226).
- Available in 30-minute increments in the morning and post-2:00 pm.
- Opt for 15-minute slots between 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

Visit CalWORKS New Location
You can now find our CalWORKS office in the South Gym, second floor, room 219 (SOG 219). Please note that accessing our office requires entering the SOG 205 wing. For those who may not be familiar, the California Work Opportunity & Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) program offers cash aid and services to eligible families with at least one child at home who are pursuing educational and occupational endeavors. Qualified students can receive:
- Academic, career, and personal counseling
- Priority enrollment
- Coordination with county caseworker
- Referrals to on- and off-campus support services

Counseling After Hours Student Support
Retention specialists are now available online in the evenings to support students remotely! If you work during the day or just can't make it to campus, drop in on Zoom for help with navigating eServices, searching the class schedule, submitting petitions, and getting connected to resources.
Students are welcome to join us every Tuesday & Wednesday, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. through the end of the spring semester!

Pell Grant, Cal Grant, and Student Success Completion Grant Enrollment Categories
There is a new way that Pell Grant awards are being calculated. Previously, Pell Grant was awarded based on full-time (12 or more units), three-quarter-time (9-11.99 units), half-time (6-8.99 units) or less-than-half-time (1-5.99 units) enrollment statuses. For 2024-2025, the enrollment statuses will be replaced with a new term called “enrollment intensity.”
Enrollment intensity is the percentage of full-time enrollment at which a student is enrolled, rounded to the nearest whole percent. For example, if full-time enrollment is 12 or more units and the student is enrolled in 7 units, the enrollment intensity would be (7 / 12) x 100% = 58%.
For the 2024-2025 award year and thereafter, a student’s scheduled Pell Grant award is multiplied by the student’s enrollment intensity percentage to determine the Annual Pell Grant Award.
The Cal Grant and Student Success Completion Grant will continue to be awarded based on the full-time, three-quarter-time, half-time, and less-than-half-time enrollment statuses.
