Looking Back, Moving Forward: SCC Art Collection Opening Reception
Celebrate the rich history and future of art at SCC! Join us on September 12, 2024, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the Kondos Gallery (Fischbacher Fine Arts 123) for the opening reception of the Looking Back, Moving Forward exhibition. Explore the featured art collection, connect with the community, and enjoy light refreshments as we kick off this special event.
About the Kondos Gallery
Founded in the 1930s by art department chair John Matthew as the "Little Gallery," this gallery began as a small space in the old library building, showcasing works by faculty, students, and local artists. In the mid-1970s, renowned painter Gregory Kondos took over as director, and in 1982, after several modernization projects, the gallery was renamed in his honor. Under the direction of multi-media artist Chris Daubert, the gallery underwent a major remodel and reopened in Fall 2010, continuing its tradition of celebrating art while moving into the twenty-first century.

Parking During Holy Bowl LII at Hughes Stadium
Sacramento City College will host Holy Bowl LII on Saturday, September 14, in the iconic Hughes Stadium, as Christian Brothers High School faces off against Jesuit High School!
Parking Note for Students and Employees:
Students and employees on campus Saturday, September 14, must park in Lots B, C, F, G or K. Students will not be cited for parking in staff lots on this day. All parking lots on the east side of campus, including North, South, East, West, and L lots, and the Parking Structure will be closed. Please refer to the campus map for lot locations.
Game Times:
- JV Game: 4:30 p.m.
- Varsity Game: 7:00 p.m.
Important Information:
- Transparent bags only will be allowed in the stadium.
- Parking lot opens at 12:00 p.m.
- $10 per car parking fee
- Gates open at 2:30 p.m.

Help Students Succeed: UC/CSU Application Lab
Encourage students to get a jump on their UC and CSU applications by attending the Caminos workshop, our first of the semester. This is an excellent opportunity for students planning to transfer in Fall 2025, as well as those who are curious about the application process. Invite them to stop by LRC 105 on Wednesday, September 11, between 12:00 and 1:30 p.m. Whether they need personalized support or just a quiet space to work, they’ll find expert advice, snacks, and drinks to help them through the process. Be sure to remind them to register!

The 6th Annual SacTown VegFest, hosted by Cosumnes River College is back! Join us Saturday, September 14, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in CRC’s Quad for a one-of-a-kind event that’s 100% vegan, 100% awesome, and 100% free to attend!
After a three-year hiatus, we’re thrilled to bring SacTown VegFest back, and we’re doing it in style. The event will highlight CRC’s Plant-Based Nutrition and Sustainable Agriculture program, and we’re honored to have the incredible Nina Curtis, the chef behind the first-ever vegan White House state dinner menu, as our featured speaker. It's a great opportunity to learn about plant-based diets, support local green businesses, and have fun with the whole family.

Celebrate Constitution Day & National Voter Registration Day
Each year, we honor Constitution Day on September 17, the day the framers signed this historic document in 1787. Dive into the stories of the framers, explore the formation of the Constitution, and read the full text online at the National Archives website.
September 17 is also National Voter Registration Day. As we reflect on our nation’s history, let’s also remember to exercise our right to vote. Take a moment to register or update your registration through the CA Secretary of State website. Your voice matters!
