Learning Ramps: Intro to Universal Design for Learning
Don't miss this dynamic online and in-person workshop, Friday, April 7, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Hosted by Nina G, comedian by night and and community college counselor by day, the workshop is an introduction to Universal Design for learning. Topics discussed will include biological underpinnings of learning styles, dyslexia, and how multiple modes of learning can be used to make the curriculum more accessible to all learners. When the needs of students with disabilities are addressed in the classroom, all students benefit and good teaching happens!

XITO 2-Day Virtual Institute
Students can register for two days of learning and community-building this week, April 6 and 7, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. XITO believes that through innovative and rigorous academic experiences, built upon a foundation of culturally responsive, historically inclusive and socially relevant curriculum, students become engaged in their academic pursuits, their community, and the world.

Integration Bee
The Integration Bee is back, Friday, April 7! Join us in Lillard Hall, LIH-105, 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The Integration Bee is the annual event hosted by the Math Department. It is similar to the spelling bee, but with integrals, an important concept in calculus.
Students who are enrolled in at least one unit at Sacramento City College can compete. Pre-register by Tuesday, April 4, at 12 p.m. On-site registration begins at 2:30 p.m. on April 7.

Tax Day Workshop for Students

Presented by the Foundation for California Community Colleges in partnership with the Golden State Opportunity Foundation.
CA community college students are invited to a free informational session to learn more about federal and state tax credits. Tax-filing tips and resources will help students avoid leaving money on the table by exploring how tax credits work. The workshop will review four tax credits available to students:
- Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC)
- California Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC)
- Child Tax Credit
- Young Child Tax Credit (YCTC)

Wellness Writing for Stress Relief
Join us for a "Write Your Way to Wellness" workshop on Monday, April 10 from 10:00 to 11:00 am via Zoom. Learn about the therapeutic power of wellness writing and journaling, which can help you decompress when life's many demands start to overwhelm you. Refugee Career Pathways
Refugee students in Los Rios are invited to attend the next Refugee Career Pathways session on April 13 at 12:00 pm to hear about the specific services available and the various immigration situations that make students eligible for various resources. Refugee Career Pathways is a program that helps refugee students with onboarding to college, finding classes, tuition assistance (depending on eligibility), and help with job search.

Marketing Team Wins Addy Awards
Los Rios and 3fold Communications took home two awards at this year's local American Advertising Awards show including a Gold ADDY for Guerrilla Marketing! In partnership with Sacramento Republic, we sponsored a 'See Your Future' Drone Show that took flight immediately following their last home game. 200 drones, 12 formations and 15 minutes of an aerial spectacle had audiences inspired to see their futures, at Los Rios!
We also took home a Silver ADDY for our "Meet Future You" Campaign emphasizing the importance of seeing and feeling yourself succeed in a career you could be passionate about. The campaign drove 5,335 new, prospective students to the District's website that accounted for 74 percent of web traffic during the campaign. We also received 160 active student leads for the next semester's enrollment.
