New Parking Permits are Required for Fall 2025
Please note that 2023-2025 employee parking permits are expired. Contact your campus police center or the main Los Rios Police Department and provide the following to get your copy of the current parking permit:
- License plate number of each vehicle using a permit
- Proof of Los Rios Community College District employment
- Photo ID

Undocu-Resources Available to Los Rios Students
Los Rios is committed to providing a safe, supportive and inclusive educational environment for all members of our community. In alignment with our Los Rios Compact in Support of Undocumented and DACA Students and Employees, we will continue to advocate for the rights and dignity of our undocumented and immigrant community members.
All students have access to the services at the SCC Undocu-Resource Center or any of the Los Rios colleges’ dedicated support centers for undocumented students.
Below are some important resources:

Free Immigration Legal Services – For legal support, our college offers face-to-face and virtual appointments with CHIRLA to discuss immigration legal services. To make an appointment, visit findyourally.com or contact your college’s undocumented resource center.

What to Do If Immigration Officials Are On Campus – In the unlikely event that US Border Control, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), or any other federal law enforcement agency comes to any Los Rios college or district facility, contact LRPD immediately at (916) 558-2221. Details can be found on the district website.

Know Your Rights Cards – Also known as “red cards,” wallet-sized “Know Your Rights” cards are available for free to all students and employees, in multiple languages, through your college’s undocumented resource center. Staff and faculty may request cards by emailing immigration@losrios.edu.

Student Fee Payment Reminder
Please remind students to check their eServices for any unpaid fees. Financial aid, including the California College Promise Grant, will not cover mandatory fees such as the Student Representation fee, Universal Transit Pass (UTP) fee, and Health Services fee. If a student is experiencing delays with their FAFSA or CADAA application, they may need to pay the fees, then apply for a refund after the disbursement or grant is in place. Information about fee payment options can be found on the Fee Payment Deadlines page.
The deadline to pay fees for fall semester is August 8, 2025 for students who enrolled between July 25 or earlier. If they enrolled after July 26, payment is due the day after they enrolled.
Most students qualify for the California College Promise Grant, which helps with tuition costs, so encourage all students to submit an application! They may contact the Financial Aid office if they have questions or need assistance.

Study Abroad Opportunity in Florence, Italy
The Los Rios Study Abroad Program is accepting applications for students to study in Florence, Italy in Spring 2026. Participants will immerse themselves in Italian culture while taking classes in subjects like art, English, media, math, and more. They will explore cobbled streets, world-class galleries, beautiful gardens, and enjoy cultural experiences like cooking classes, opera, soccer matches, wine tastings, and weekend excursions.
All courses are taught in English and are transferable (Cal-GETC). The program runs January 31 – May 1, 2026. For the best course selection, students should apply by Friday, September 19, 2025. See Something, Say Something: Stay Safe
The Los Rios Colleges are open campuses, and it’s common to see people on-site who are not students or employees. Sometimes, certain behaviors may be uncomfortable, concerning, or raise a red flag in your mind.
"If You See Something, Say Something" is a national campaign that raises public awareness of the importance of reporting suspicious activity as a way to protect ourselves, our loved ones, and our communities.
If you notice anything suspicious, contact the Los Rios Police Department at (916) 558-2221, then press “0” to speak with Dispatch.

Instrument Sale Benefitting Music Department: August 14–16
Are you interested in acquiring a piano, digital piano, or violin? Consider purchasing one at the instrument sale to be held at SCC August 14-16!
The Music Department at Sacramento City College has partnered with the Rockley Family Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting music education. Musical instruments provided will be sold at a significant discount from manufacturer retail pricing, and the proceeds from the sale will be donated to the SCC Music Department, providing valuable resources and scholarship money for music students.

In Memoriam: William M. Robinson Jr.
We are saddened to share the passing of William M. Robinson Jr., a dedicated professor who served Sacramento City College with distinction for over two decades.
Professor Robinson joined the SCC community on September 6, 1968, as an Aeronautics Professor and remained a steadfast part of our campus until his retirement on June 1, 1995. Throughout his 27 years of service, he taught and inspired countless students, contributing to the strength and reputation of SCC’s Aeronautics Program.
A celebration of his life will be held on:
