Get Your Summer Off to a Great Start
The Summer 2022 session officially begins Monday, June 6. Open classes are still available. For online classes, regularly check Canvas starting Monday to see when your class is “live”/published. Don’t see your class? To view unpublished classes, click on the “Courses” icon and select “All Courses”. If you see your class listed as unpublished, you are enrolled and active in the class. Check back again soon to see if the course is live.

Get Started with Canvas
Online and even many of our in-person classes use the Canvas online learning management system. If you are new to Canvas, check out these short Los Rios Canvas "how-to" videos on the most requested features.

Know Your Schedule
Some online classes meet weekly at specific days and times, while others don't and will be self-paced. Check your schedule in eServices to make sure you know which of your classes meet up and put it on your calendar so you don't forget!
If no days/times are listed or you see “TBD” or “1 AM - 1 AM”, that means there is no required weekly meeting for that class. Even if you don’t have a set meeting time, plan to check Canvas each week and set aside time to do your regular coursework.
Some classes meet in person on campus - check your schedule for the day, time, and meeting location (including if it will be at the main campus or at one of the centers).

Waitlists
Are you on a waitlist? The waitlist status of a class changes throughout the enrollment period, so you should regularly monitor your waitlist status. If your professor gives you a permission number to add the class, follow these Use Permission Number/Enroll from Waitlist instructions for eServices.

Get Your Textbooks
Start by looking up your textbooks by course section on the bookstore website. Free pickup is available! You’ll receive an email letting you know when your items are available for pickup and what to do when you arrive.

Parking Update for Summer
Los Rios will not be selling semester or daily parking permits for Summer 2022. This means you will not be ticketed for a lack of permit during the term. However, please make sure to park in designated student parking spaces/lots and be sure to follow all other parking rules, such as only parking in handicapped spots if you have the appropriately issued placard and no parking in fire or loading zones, as these violations could result in a ticket.

Your Transit ZipPass
The Universal Transit Pass (UTP) allows eligible students to use Sacramento Regional Transit (SacRT) bus and light rail services at a lower price. All eligible students are charged the UTP fee, regardless of whether or not they use the pass. The UTP is available electronically via SacRT's mobile fare app, ZipPass. Learn more at the SacRT ZipPass/Universal Transit Pass webpage.

Emergency Resources

You can also download the Rave Guardian App to have Los Rios safety resources and information at your fingertips, including what to do in case a lockdown happens on campus.

COVID-19 Vaccine Requirement for In-Person Classes & Services
To take in-person classes, all students must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or have an approved exemption on file before the semester begins.
As part of our efforts to help reduce barriers for students to enroll in our colleges, Los Rios revised the enrollment process for in-person classes to allow all students to enroll in in-person classes and provide proof of vaccination (or an approved exemption) prior to the start of the semester. This change took effect in summer 2022, and any student who was not cleared two weeks before the start of the semester was dropped from their in-person classes.
Students who choose to not be vaccinated may take 100% online classes but may not come to campus for in-person classes and student support services. Learn more at scc.losrios.edu/vaccine.
